Every year when the school year comes to an end, the upcoming 12th graders are told their allocated PDW.
After being told where they will be going in September, they are asked to think of ways to fundraise for the projects they are planning to support, ideas such as selling t-shirts, having a funded dinner with friends are usually on top of the list.
This year, however, three already very engaged students, Kristin, Jeppe and Koen, have come up with a different way of fundraising - by letting students play FIFA during their Lunch break.
The message posted on schoology by Jeppe stated this:
“Compete in teams of two, and hustle your way out the group stages, all the way to final with the chances of winning 100CHF! + The most breathtaking trophy in the world!
Entry per player is 10 CHF, and as FIFA is a sports game, all proceeds of course go to building sporting facilities at the Oldonyo Sambu school in Tanzania!”
With this message they inspired so many students that they were able to raise 400CHF for the school in Tanzania and they even ended up winning their own tournament with team called the Majestic Maasai and majestic they were.

Students from every grade came in order to play FIFA and maybe win the 100CHF, but the most important part of this fundraiser was getting the word out about what the Tanzania PDW is hoping to achieve.
We are trying to raise money for the Oldonyo Sambu school in Tanzania and show our appreciation for the children there and the teachers.
So thank you to Kristian, Jeppe and Koen for a great start into the following months hopefully filled with lots of fundraising.
